my director of the moment-probably forever

as you read the title, im writing about my favorite director of the moment, probably forever.

the rawness and the intensity was clearly interpreted throughout the film. the naturalism of human nature was so exquisitely real to me that i second guessed, if the film that im watching was actually a raw footage of these tribe with cameras trailing behind them or a real hollywood movie. the emotions all throughout was conveyed in a very dynamic and tortured level of intimacy and awe that i was captivated.

the creativity of it all, the storytelling, the gore, the history, superbly translated to film.

i especially like the part where jaguar paw was pushed to his limits. you can see it in his eyes the longing for the freedom and his family and the willingness to survive was so intense that you'd feel your own heart pounding from stress and restlesness.

and another was the bloodshed of the film itself. yes, it was gorry, but then again, it was REAL. it wasn't as overpoweringly gross like some horror films, it was done magnificently and tastefully, point in case, the part where the jaguar lunged to the tribeman and totally tore his face off. that happens. that may actually happened in those times. nature in its purest and bravest form. brilliant!

the part that endeared me the most was the birth-ing of jaguar paw's son. torturingly beautiful. i am actually lost for adjectives for this scene. it is overwhelming.

and who am i referring to?

its the dark and tortured soul of the creative genius that is MEL GIBSON.

make more films... films that inspires, films that move. films that doesnt have the hollywood flair. films that potrays the rawness of human and animal nature. thank you for the passion. thank you for the geniosity. thank you for these films: The Passion of the Christ and Apocalypto.
